Thirty years ago, we discovered the world of street children within the harsh, raw, underbelly of Delhi. We resolved to give them a life of dignity - food, security, health, education, and love. And a place to dream, of a secure fulfilling future, a family of their own.
For 30 years, we have transformed the lives of tens of thousands of India's most vulnerable children. Today, many of these children are giving back to the streets, feeding homeless labor, identifying the most vulnerable, and reaching out to them.
In this time of COVID, we are seeing how each selfless deed multiplies into the scores of others. How compassion feeds on itself and sets off a gentle ripple of caring.

Salaam Baalak Trust is an Indian non-profit and non-governmental organization registered as a Trust to under the Indian Trust Act (1908) which provides care and protection to the street and working children in Delhi and NCR.
The name Salaam Baalak translates literally to a Trust which 'salutes the child'. Saluting the indomitable spirit of street children without distinction of gender, religion, or caste lies at the heart of our work.
Our vision creates a nurturing environment that can foster normal physical and mental growth of street and neglected children. To allow them to return to mainstream society and eventually contribute.
