    Sakshi Chauhan

    from Dehradun, Uttarakhand

Sakshi Chauhan had met with an accident when she was 12 years old. She was run over by a bus, while crossing the road, causing her to lose her limbs. One limb had to be amputated and the other underwent major plastic surgeries.
Her father, a driver by profession, had worked very hard to pay off the medical bills. Eventually, the family ended up with heavy debts on them, but her parents never gave up on her. They worked hard and did everything for her to be able to stand up by herself. Today, their hard work and support has given Sakshi the courage to battle life.

I am Sakshi Chauhan and live in Dehradun. I am an amputee and chasing my dream to represent the country at Wheel Chair Basketball Championship.

A sports wheelchair will enable me to pursue my passion for wheelchair basketball, help me to do my regular practices which I am unable to do so now.

There are people in life who accept things the way they are and then there are people who head-on take the challenge and transform their life into something extraordinary. Such is my story, hello everyone I am Sakshi Chauhan, and live in Dehradun.

I am an amputee and chasing my dream to represent the country at Wheelchair Basketball Championship.
I wish to immerse myself in sports; very recently I was part of the winning Maharashtra team in just concluded national wheelchair basketball tournament held in Chandigarh.

I firmly believe that sports can turn me to be more positive and of course more independent.
I'm now fighting to realise my dreams and take flight by trying to get a sports wheelchair.

A sports wheelchair will enable me to pursue my passion of wheelchair basketball, help me to do my regular practices which I am unable to do so now.

I am from a very humble background, my parents have meagre income and they have worked very hard to make me what I am today. The minimal resources our family pool has will not be able to support my dream of having a sports wheelchair.

I'm a dreamer, writer, storyteller, and a singer, and I want to become a successful sports person. Will you help me to win this fight? Support me to get my dream sports wheelchair which will help me to shine in wheelchair basketball and in life.
