These migrant workers have been stranded in Udupi for over a month with no food and shelter ever since the lockdown for COVID-19. Manipal Students and Police found them walking en route to Telangana. They have been provided with food and shelter now. However, they want to reach their home in Telangana where they have kids and elderly family members to take care of. They have been asked to pay INR 1,86,000 to arrange for buses. Considering they are daily wage workers, it is quite difficult for them to arrange for the money. I have registered them on the Seva Sindhu Karnataka Portala and waiting for approval for passes from the Telangana Government. Meanwhile, I want to raise money to help them with arranging buses. Everyone deserves to be home during this difficult time. There are 10 children and 20 women in this group out of which one of them is pregnant. I request you to contribute whatever you can to help these distressed people get home.
