Students living in a rural place are at a disadvantage as compared to students in urban places. They face three levels of problems. First, students in rural places do not get to know about all professions and job roles that exist in the world. Second, their view towards a profession is mostly driven by one-sided information which they get from movies and news. Third, once a carrier choice is decided they do not get enough resources and guidance like a student in a metro city.

To solve the three levels of problems we came with an idea of tablet in a school. In this program, we plan to put a tablet in a government school and share carrier related information through videos. Around 80 people, mostly from IIM Bangalore have volunteered to make videos and help students. On a pilot basis, we have made 15 videos which are listed on a website - http://careerandperspectives.com. Videos related to various industries and professions will help in solving the first and the second level of problems. Students will also be able to have a direct conversation with the professional who made the video. This would help to solve the third level of problems.

We want to start this program in two government schools of Hatta, Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. For this program, we need funds two tablets, tablet stands, internet connection and rewards for students. For buying essentials we would need 30K. 20K would be reserved for reward money which will be given to students over a period of the year based on their participation in the program and family background.
