    This fundraiser will benefit

    Sadhan Goswami

    from Kolkata, West Bengal

These times have been testing for all of us.
Well, for Champa Goswami it has been slightly more challenging since she was diagnosed with Carcinoma Ovary in 2018 and her battle with it is since then, never has she complained but has been fighting since then.
Hi all, I am Amartya & this is what I want to share with all of you to hear & help, to share on your desire & to care with what you can !!
  • She received the treatment with Neoadjuvant chemotherapy with paclitaxel carboplatin for 3 cycles. She underwent an interval surgery at CNCI. She extended to another 3 sessions post the surgery
  • The PET CT scan showed complete metabolic response allowing her to get discharged and was in route to recovery. She was disease-free for the next 12 months
  • Germline BRCA testing was done post these 12 months. Unfortunately, the results were pathogenic.
  • She started receiving second line chemotherapy with Lipodox – Carboplatin for 6 cycles. Maintenance OLAPARIB was not initiated by her citing the financial concerns that was persistent then & now too.
  • She was disease free for the next 6 months until she developed Ascites with raising CA125 Paracentesis was carried out. She started chemotherapy with Gemcitabine – Carboplatin. She received her first cycle in April 2020 but due to the medical complications it was discontinued
  • Champa had recurring severe anemia which required hospitalization and blood transfusion. Due to the medical intervention it was revealed that she is affected with Gastric Ulcer.
The doctors state that the prognosis of Champa is grave & can be terminally ill. She may develop intestinal obstruction which will require stoma surgery. They plan to provide 2 more cycles of chemotherapy followed by evaluation by a PET CT scan and serum tumor marker.
Having spoken so much on the medical terms, we can just realize how hard this has been for Champa to cope up with this herculean journey. As we complain on our days getting monotonous and boring – Here we have Champa not complaining but fighting with positivity.
Let us join hands and show that she has a lot of people cheering for her in this journey by contributing financially and morally, this surely will ease her out in this difficult situation.
