Sachin and Disha were overjoyed when Sairaj was born but little did they know that they would be on the verge of losing him so soon. Baby Sairaj was diagnosed with Osteopetrosis- a life threatening condition which makes the bones brittle and prone to breakage. The only known cure for this rare disease is a stem cell transplant. Doctors have suggested the parents to make arrangements for the surgery as soon as possible to save their baby in time.
“My family runs on farming. The most we earn in a month is Rs.10,000 but this transplant costs 10 lakhs. I don’t even have assets to mortgage or savings to break, it is beyond my capacity to arrange such a huge amount quickly. My entire family is in tears with the thought of losing the light of our lives”- Sachin, father.
