Aatmanirbhar Purnia is an initiative by E-commerce company House Of Maithili. Its founding vision is to help rural women  lead better lives by ensuring that handloom weaving is a profitable, sustainable, fulfilling and dignified form of Livelihood for them.

The Initiative:
Aatmanirbhar Purnia is an initiative by Purnia based ecommerce company House Of Maithili. Its founding vision is to help rural women (from Banmankhi, Amour, Dhamdaha, Rupauli, Baisi, Dagarua, Barhara, Baisa, Kasba , Bhavanipur and Jalalgarh) lead better lives by ensuring that handloom weaving is a profitable, sustainable, fulfilling and dignified form of livelihood for them.
Our aim is to create a uniquely dynamic mix of undertaking training and technical innovation to rural women to produce high quality and a different (unique) weave from natural fibre (specially BANANA & JUTE) blending with cotton and silk.
We believe to empower the creators of our textiles, this talented community of young and aspiring weaver entrepreneurs, so that they can build robust businesses. What differentiates us is the belief that weavers are equal partners in the business, not mere wage workers who will weave the said design and be paid per meter wages. We believe in the agency of artisans to transcend impediments in traditional value chains to co-create, manage business and sell the final products directly to the end consumer.
The women will be trained from yarn bobbin winding to weaving a fabric. Warp beaming, winding, drafting, denting, pern winding, weaving are the processes learnt for the two to three months.

Fund Utilization:

We have our own land where We are setting up 6-7 Handlooms for training purpose also 4 trainers from The Handloom school MP will come here in purnea to give them training .
The fund which we will get from Crowd funding will be used to buy looms
These women will get stipend of Rs 200/- Daily during training periods. 24 women in one batch (duration 4 months )
Trainer's fee and their  travel and accommodation
We with this intiative want to bring technology in the sector of textile. Textile industry gives huge employment opportunity, so with this We believe to empower the creators of our textiles, this talented community of young and aspiring weaver entrepreneurs, so that they can build robust businesses. Why startup - This is a new model that takes leverage of technology, using Artificial intelligence data for better product development of traditional textiles. What differentiates us is the belief that weavers are equal partners in the business, not mere wage workers who will weave the said design and be paid per meter wages. We believe in the agency of artisans to transcend impediments in traditional value chains to co-create, manage business and sell the final products directly to the end consumer.
