With the current and sudden surge in Covid cases and acute shortage of oxygen that our country is facing, we have been hard at work devising ways to ease and alleviate the situation at the grass-root level. To cope with the current scenario, we have designed an intensive Covid intervention dedicated to the creation of Oxygen plants in the hinterlands. I am happy to share with you SEED’s Project Sankalp. This project has been conceived keeping the Oxygen plant as the pivot and other Covid- related interventions operating around it.
Briefly, the idea is to install one PSA Oxygen Plant in the largest hospital of the cluster chosen, making it self-sufficient. This plant would then be able to supply oxygen to smaller hospitals/health centres around it. The radius would be around10-20 km. The oxygen will be transported through a pressure booster which fills in cylinders for transportation to smaller centres, thereby, making the entire cluster self-sufficient and self-reliant. Depending on the situation and demand, retail to individuals will also be an option. Along with this, we shall also carry out local interventions in terms of awareness generation, dispelling myths around the virus, public place sanitization, distribution of rations and covid care kits for both the general public and frontline workers in these rural clusters.
In Phase I, we are looking to cover 6 such clusters in each of the 6 states shortlisted. The overall target is to raise around INR 6 Crores from different corporate houses, agencies and individuals. I urge you for your participation and support in Our Fight Against the Pandemic. If this has your attention and your organization is looking for a way to do it’s share in these tough times, please reach out to us. We will be eager to discuss how we can collaborate, keeping your budget and timelines in mind.
