COVID-19 Wave II has put tremendous stress on the existing public healthcare system. Majority of intensive care facilities are centered in cities of the country while the virus has spread widely in the rural areas, leading to heavy losses of lives.

Our objective is to decentralize the healthcare system and to ensure that the rural districts are self-sufficient for providing universal healthcare to all its people even in the event of a third wave of infection and beyond.  

We, as a consortium of non-profit organizations with Nirmaan as a lead partner for execution, have initiated the ‘10 bed ICU program’. As a part of the program, we are setting up 10 bed ICU facility at government district/area hospitals where the District Collectors have come forward to ensure sufficient support for running the ICU operations.

Each 10-bed ICU unit will include 9 critical equipment:
- 10 ICU Beds with mobility
- 2 Ventilators with backup
- 5 Suction Apparatus
- 5 Multi-channel Monitors
- 2 Infusion pumps
- 2 ICU Bed cum Trolley
- 3 Crash Cart (ICU Medical Trolley)
- 25 Oxygen D-type Cylinders with Trolley
- 2 Oxygen Concentrators

The funds raised through this campaign will go towards the procurement of the above ICU equipment for installation in rural district/ area hospitals.

 We aim to setup the 10-bed ICU project in 300 districts across India. We have already initiated the process in Telangana with 37 hospitals and Andhra Pradesh with 26 hospitals.
