In two days we were requested by Ms. Smritiparna Sengupta, on behalf of Jabala Action Research Organisation to provide food for 20 children around the Kolabagan area who have been affected by COVID and the lockdown. Their parents are out of jobs and they need nutrition.
From today onwards we shall be providing 30 more meals to Amader Padakhep, as requested by Ms Mala Goswami, Secretary of the organisation. They run 2 homes for destitute children in Baghajatin - one for boys and another for girls. They are also providing support for financially challenged COVID and non-COVID patients.
We provide fish meals and egg meals where we include different vegetables, soya chunks, etc. along with sizable fish and egg portions to make a wholesome single serving meal. We also provide curd along with it. The cost of this whole meal comes to around 50 rupees per meal.
We have been asked for the organisations to try and provide free meals at least for the coming month, considering the COVID scenario and financial crises. Currently we are providing 45 free meals per day.
We seek your financial support in this humble endeavour of ours such that we can continue to serve the people in need in this hour of tremendous crisis. We need financial support to procure the materials for the food. We are also accepting raw materials if anyone may choose to support us that way.
Food for one, food for all.
Thanks and regards,
On behalf of Ruchira Kitchens
