A two years old boy, identified as Rohan, hailing from Ramkola in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh, was diagnosed with Meningomyelocele, and his parents have now run out of funds to seek treatment for him. Moreover, with the doctors postponing his treatment, the parents require monetary aid from the community to save their little one.

Meningomyelocele, commonly known as myelomeningocele, is a type of spina bifida. It occurs when a developing baby's spinal cord fails to develop or close properly while in the womb. Symptoms can sometimes be seen on the skin above the spinal defect. They include an abnormal tuft of hair, a birthmark, or protruding spinal cord tissue. When treatment is necessary, it's carried out through surgery to close the defect. Other treatments focus on managing complications.

Rohan's family has seen him suffer since birth due to the growing tumor on his back. The bulging tumor distresses him during his sleep, causing intense pain and discomfort. Not a single day has passed when his mother didn't wake all night to provide him a sense of relief. On the other hand, his father kept working and procuring funds to provide his child the relevant medical treatment so that he doesn't lose his childhood and lead a normal life.

Even though the family struggles with their livelihood, they have left no stone unturned and sought help from doctors. Since Rohan's tumor started growing at an early age, his parents, Suman Devi and Prashuram, took him to the hospitals in the state to help procure the medication their child required. But each time the doctors postponed his treatment and told them to return, leaving them stunned.

Seeing Rohan's hardships, his parents became desperate for his treatment as he suffered from excruciating pain. Following these instances, the couple took Rohan to a hospital in Gorakhpur as his condition was worsening. Unfortunately, the negligent doctors denied any complications and told them to return home, although he bore pain due to his tumor. Disappointed by these incidents, Rohan was brought home, directing them back to square one.

Needless to say, the family lacks funds as the father is the sole earner for the family. Moreover, he works as a farmer and gets a wage of Rs. 50 (USD 0.66) to Rs. 150 (USD 1.98) per day, crushing them under the burden of their sinking finances. With no funds in hand and a meager income, the couple took a loan for his treatment, but again, they received no help, leaving them disheartened. Further, the family has insufficient resources and reside in a shattered dwelling, where water enters each time rain lashes. Besides, due to absence of mortgage, they cannot take loans from banks.

Moreover, as Rohan's parents have the responsibility of other children on themselves, they cannot go all out and place all the funds they have on the line for their youngest son, as it would result in the loss of meals for other kids. Stressed by these situations, the couple has no money left by the end of the day for Rohan's medical expenses.
Despite life kept throwing curveballs at the family, they gathered their courage to help support their entire family. With nothing but dissatisfaction, the couple failed to afford any treatment for Rohan. The family could not procure the funds they needed as they barely had any money for survival. For now, Rohan's mother lives with the hope that a good Samaritan may arrive and help treat her ailing child. She pleads to the society to lend a helping hand to Rohan.

The family is on the verge of giving up on Rohan's medication. They have left everything to fate and await someone who would help them in saving their child. They express their inability to keep everyone in the family fed, let alone pay Rohan's medical bills. With the family's falling income, they seek financial aid from society, urging people to support Rohan during these challenging times.
