I am a Teach For India fellow and I teach a bunch of curious, smart, and enthusiastic 8th graders from KP Agrahara School, Bangalore. The only reason they are behind their private school counterparts, academically, is because they do not have access to smartphones, and proper internet connection to access online learning spaces and not because they are any less smarter, or enthusiastic to learn. My students are eager to learn and they are excited about learning, and we want to make it possible for them in whatever way we can. It's their right to have access to a quality education.
We need your help in raising money and purchasing smartphones and internet connections for our students. As you must be aware, some schools have reopened (including ours) but we can only take classes on two days per week, and that too, for two hours. There's no way all teachers can accommodate all subjects in that limited time. Meanwhile, we are also supposed to continue with our online classes all the other days of the week. This becomes a difficult situation for all those kids who only have access to learning when they come to school two days a week and find themselves way behind other kids who attend our online classes. We need to make devices and internet connection available for these kids to bridge this gap as much as possible, and as soon as possible.
We can only do this with your help. Please consider donating as much as you can. Every little contribution will make a significant difference
Breakdown of the money :
Phones for 40 kids - 6k-7k * 40 = 2,80,000
Rounding that up to 3,00,000 (for internet connections and recharge purposes for all the kids for few months)
Our students need your help!
Thank you :)
