My name is asfia I am a teacher/social worker and I am raising food donations for my samkhya. We are a collective of self help groups and women of our community are struggling to make their ends meet.
Due to rising price of oil,atta, rice and low salaries they are having a hard time buying basic household groceries(oil,atta,rice).
Most of our women are daily wage earners, factory workers and maids, they are unable to maintain their expenses. Average monthly groceries cost is 3835 rupees for one family. If they can get help with at least one month of groceries it would be very helpful.
groceries required by one family:atta : 420 ₹
rice : 1000 ₹
oil : 950 ₹soaps : 200 ₹
masoor dal : 165 ₹
washing powder : 350 ₹
sugar : 320 ₹tea : 220 ₹
chana : 210 ₹
TOTAL : 3835 ₹
For 50 families : 3835 * 50 = 191,750.
This year we were able to start teaching unprivileged students in a small rented room. We teach unprivileged students who cannot afford school or are struggling with subject and cannot afford coaching. We are in need of rent for our teaching room as it would give us opportunity to continue teaching and educating children. We are also in in need of a computer for our children to practice on.
