Diagnosed with Non - Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2019, my father underwent rigorous and long treatments at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, which included 7 chemo cycles and ended in early 2020.

The chemotherapies were painful for a 76-year-old man to bear and he was left seriously weak thereafter. The post-chemotherapy complications also kept my father sick most of the time and he spent a major part of the year in the hospital. As a result, his mental and physical health suffered greatly. But he beat the malignancy successfully by early 2020.

Unfortunately, in August 2021, we once again witnessed a relapse of the disease (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma), which has brought in several other health complications, as a result leaving him completely at the mercy of ventilators and tubes in the ICU of  Tata Medical Center, Kolkata at present.

He also suffers from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) thereby rendering his lungs very weak, and having exposed him to multiple infections throughout the year due to his low immunity. As of date, one round of chemotherapy has already been administered, but due to his low immunity and suspected infection in the lungs, his condition deteriorated very badly, increasing his dependency on ventilators and sedation.

At one point, I almost thought we lost him, because of his failing parameters. But the doctors at Tata Medical Center are working dedicatedly to tackle his situation.

Financially we have been hit very hard. My father, retired personnel of State Bank of India, has unfortunately exhausted most of his savings in his treatments since 2019 (first phase of treatment), where, the total cost of the treatment amounted to 7 lakhs and it was entirely borne by my father from his lifelong savings.

At present, my father's condition being critical, he has been admitted to the ICU of Tata Medical Center, where he has been kept on ventilation. While the root cause of the infection spreading in his body is still undetermined, the medical bills are mounting each day!

More than Rs. 60,000/-  is the daily expense incurred in ICU. We have already incurred a total expense of 4 lakhs till date since August 2021. The cost of medicines & treatments is hefty. Scores of tests like CT scan, MRI Scan, Bronchoscopy, multiple histopathology examinations, FNAC Biopsies, Blood tests, Xray Imaging and much more are extremely costly and have been done on my father.
And we are still unsure how long his condition will persist and thereafter leading to recovery & subsequent chemotherapy again.

The increasing expenses is really a matter of grave concern to us now. I am the only child of my aged parents. It is extremely difficult for me as a daughter to witness him in this condition while at the same time struggling with finances. Due to his extended illness and the pandemic, I have not been able to focus on my small-home bakery and thus am unable to contribute towards his mounting treatment expenses. My mother is a housewife.

My father's savings are on the verge of exhausting, and all we have is a roof over our heads. We are distraught and filled with fear, as, with no money, his treatment may have to be stopped midway, thus leaving him with not even a fighting chance at survival.

As the only child taking care of my aged parents,  I, Rini Dalal, am reaching out to you for helping raise funds for my father's treatment as it is not possible without your generous help!  So I urge you to kindly help us raise funds.

We are looking to raise 8 lakhs at present to suffice my father's current treatment tenure at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.

Please share, support & contribute as much as possible. Nothing is small or big. Every penny counts and will only help give my father the chance to fight for his life.

Thank you and really grateful for all your help.
