Rimpi Katiyar (my wife) is a doting mother of a loving son and absolutely adoring wife. Dependable, sincere, and never shy of lending a helping hand, is what colleagues and friends would say of her.
This year brings a lot of trouble to my family. Initially we all were diagnosed for COVID-19, surviving which leads to another big complications. My life came to a standstill when my wife's post COVID reports shows an unexplained high TLC counts was diagnosed to be AML. Acute myeloid leukemia (also called AML or AML leukemia). This was absolutely unexpected as there is no family History, and she lives a healthy life all through. She is in the high-risk category. Since the mutation of Her leukemia cells is such that the cure was Chemotherapy may follow by Stem cell transplant. AML is an acute leukemia and can cause symptoms very quickly. It usually needs to be treated as soon as possible after diagnosis.
She started with Her induction Chemotherapy; however, she got other complications like high fever, fungal infection on skin, joint pains, severe headache, liver swelling etc. Another round of intensive chemotherapy was given post which Her infection became worse. She was put on dual anti-fungal therapy. Her Chemotherapy was put on hold to give some time for the fungal infection to be healed. Now second session of Chemotherapy got started from this week.
Our whole family got highly disturbed due to this. Surviving the COVID-19 pandemic and diagnosis of this AML gives another mental and financial burdens. Life had become too complicated and hence with all hope I have started the treatment now. Her treatment would be Chemotherapy followed by Stem cell transplant.
Rimpi needs you to lend a helping hand to fight this cruel disease. I have already utilized my savings for the treatment for now. Already paid the amount of approx. 10 Lakhs from my health insurance, savings and with help of my friends, still much more needs to go.
We are looking for your financial support and help for my family and to meet the huge medical bills & the estimates that doctors had assumed. Please donate, no matter how big or small, to this fund. All donations would be routed directly to Vikash for the treatment which could last months.
Additionally, we ask you to keep her in your prayers daily to ease her difficult journey.
