The natural sciences are inherently a practical, lab-based subject: part of the joy in studying the sciences lies in using equipment and techniques to extract components from solutions, to analyze samples using melting point techniques, to collect an infrared spectrum of compounds - and so much more.
Unfortunately, there lies a deep wedge between the scope to pursue this sort of research and learning offered to those from privileged and underprivileged backgrounds. Some schools that provide free education run on a limited budget. As a result, even essential equipment like a Science or a Math Lab is often inaccessible to these schools. Children from these schools have no access to experimental learning and miss out on a very important aspect of understanding science.
We want to change that. As part of an ongoing effort to further the education of underprivileged children in the field of Science & Math, Educating Minds, a student-run organization is asking for your help so that we can arrange for labs and proper equipment in less fortunate schools.
Please help us along our journey!
