After having lost 3 babies due to miscarriage and complication from c-section, Rekha - a 43 year old housewife thought she was leading a regular life in whatever way they could with her 4 year old daughter and husband Somnath who is a tailor (Family below poverty line per Government definition - BPL Card below). Disaster struck this family when Rekha was diagnosed with a tumor in brain.

Her husband, Somnath  used all his savings to get her through the painful surgery to remove tumor. Whatever small insurance they had was all used up. Post the surgery, doctors have advised her to undergo external radiotherapy and chemotherapy to treat Glioblastoma post surgery (A form of cancerous cells. Please refer to the attached letter from a reputed oncologist from Manipal Hospial, Bangalore).Somnath, Rekha's husband is almost running out of options to meet the expenses amounting to 5 Lakh Rs+ for the remaining treatment.

This fundraiser is created by a parent from the same school Rekha and Somnath's 4 year old daughter is studying. Some relief is coming from the school who agreed not to bother Somnath for the school fees for the year. But the main question of how to raise funds for remaining treatment stays.

Cost of treatment as per hospital is 5 Lakhs and Somnath need to take care of the medication and following expenses, estimated to be in the range of 2 to 3 Lakhs.
