The NGO Rays Asha Ki Ek Kiran was created by Mrs. Rashmi Kuchhal and Captain Gurinder Virk in Jaipur, 2010. The reason was because HIV+ kids are not accepted in regular orphanages since they need special attention and care.
It is a charitable organization that cares for children who were born with the human immunovirus (HIV). Many of these children lost their parents or were abandoned by their families, some were brought by helpless parents who could no longer provide medical or personal care. Society has wrong beliefs and understanding of this disease. People think HIV happens to only those who have malpractices of sex, or that the boy or girl doesn’t have a good character. HIV is nothing but their immunity is a little poor unlike ours.
RAYS welcomes these children into its family and gives them a home, cares for their medical needs, their education and counsels them towards a life of possibility, positivity and hope.
Every child we rescue has a different story of the struggles they have had to face.
They have faced many challenges all their life, especially being outcast by society. Most of these children are orphans, as their parents have succumbed to the disease. We have been their parents figure, supporting them all their life.
RAYS is doing everything in it's capacity to help these children out, but we are running out of resources to support them.
Due to the pandemic, their situation is much worse. Apart from being highly susceptible to the virus, having low immunity, we are unable to manage funds for their food, clothes, home rent and education. We need money to pay rent for where they are staying, to feed them food, to pay for their fees & medicines.
During these times we are finding it difficult to do it all single-handedly. We really need your support.
We are hopeful if people come forward and support us - we can help these children survive these troubled times.
Thank you for your Support
