A little about Ratchanya's journey in her own words.
"Hello everyone. My name is Ratchanya V. I am 24-years old, and a final year LLB student at Bishop Cotton Women's Christian Law College, Bengaluru. I have been admitted to a one-year Masters of Law in Intellectual Property and Trade Law program (academic year 2021-22) at Christ University, Pune Lavasa Campus, for which I am seeking your support.
I was born and raised in Madurai (Tamil Nadu) into a nuclear family. My father always encouraged my brother and I to read, and so I grew up reading a lot of stories, including stories of injustice. This, coupled with my observations of my father's social work, inculcated in me a love for two things - Language and Law. I consider these two of the most powerful instruments of change in society.
I followed my first calling post 12th grade, and pursued a BA in English Language and Literature at Madras Christian College in 2015. I then followed my second calling by pursuing LLB in 2018. I am now standing at an exciting juncture to pursue LLM that will take me a step further to my dream ambition of becoming a Judge in India, and enabling long-lasting social change in India.
Unfortunately, my family has exhausted most of our resources in tuition fees, and therefore I am seeking financial support for the remaining amount of INR 1 lakh. This will help me meet my boarding expenses of INR 80,000, and book expenses of INR 10,000, amongst other miscellaneous expenses that I will incur throughout the one-year period.
Thank you all so very much for your support. I will be eternally grateful."
