Nageswara Rao residing in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh - the sole bread winner of his family - met with a freak accident when leaving his house on his scooter on Ugadi, April 13 to bring home groceries.
His hip bone fractured in two and the patient was in intense distress. The family admitted Nageswara Rao to a hospital in Gudivada where the doctors performed surgery on the patient without considering his diabetes and heart conditions and whether they would be able to handle complications arising from the surgery. Due to inadequate post-surgery care because of a lack of quality doctors in Gudivada, the patient started exhibiting Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome.
He is currently admitted to Manipal Hospital (multi-specialty) in Vijayawada where he was kept under observation for 48 hours. The doctors at Manipal now believe there is a chance for Nageswara Rao to recover completely. However he will need to undergo multiple surgeries and kept in the ICU for about 10 days. It costs about INR 1.5 lakhs per day to keep him in the ICU.
Since they are a family of limited means we are organizing this fundraiser to help Nageswara Rao's family save him. He has recently married off his two elder daughters and the family is still dependent on him for livelihood. Any amount, small or large, that you can spare will go a long way towards helping this family in dire need.
