Story

Dear All,

We are reaching out requesting your contributions to help RamaDevi fight COVID related complications.

My mother was tested positive for Covid-19 on May 10th 2021. She was being treated at home by my brother. We got the CT done and score was 3/25 and she was doing fine at home. After a few days there was a sudden dip in saturation levels(SPO2 levels came down to 75 from 90).She was immediately admitted to covid ICU in Narayana Medical college and Hospital,Nellore. As IL6 levels and serum ferritin count were more, we had to immediately get Tocilizumab injections. As regular process was taking much time, we got them at 5,50,000 INR per dose.
After 2 doses she was doing good on NIV mask. There was some improvement though periodically she had some distress.
On June 18th she was tested as Covid negative and moved to general ICU ward from Covid ICU ward.
There were fever spikes and on June 25th her saturation levels dropped to 45.
She was immediately incubated and tracheostomy was done on June 30th.
Initially she was doing well and there was a drop in saturation levels on July 08th.
She has been kept on sedation from July 8th and coming to conscious is bringing down her saturation levels.
She is kept on PEEP setting of 10 and FIO2 requirement is 100%.
Doctor confirmed that weaning is not possible now as she is not able to cope up with low FIO2 levels.
As last resort, doctor advised for lung transplant as kidney functionality is going down which may result in multiple organ failure.
We enquired in yashoda and KIMS hospitals and doctors confirmed that lung transaplant is possible and shouldn’t be delayed further.

Expenses incurred so far:

  • Hospital and Pharmacy bills incurred so far – 30,00,000 INR
  • Air lifting to transplant center – 12,00,000 INR
  • ECMO Mobilization – 10,00,000 INR
Future expenses:

  • ECMO Daily costs – 1.5 to 2 Lakhs per day for 30 days = 60,00,000
  • Lung Transplant – 55,00,000

The total budget excluding the amount spent so far will be a minimum of 1.5 Crores .

My family is requesting you to kindly come forward and help my mother in getting the lung transplant done.
You can contribute by donating money (even a small amount will make a big difference) and by spreading the message through your network.

Please reach out to me or my brother for any enquiries.
