I will like to make a request on this platform to help my father come out of the dreadful disease that is "NECROTIC PANCREATITIS". I am really having strong hope that you will be able to help me and my family during this difficult time
Just to provide you some context about the suffering we are into:
Last month on 12th September, my father Mr. Ram Chetwani aged 61 was diagnosed with Inflated Pancreatitis and we got him admitted to Sterling Hospital, Pune. Initially, the doctor made us aware that the pancreas is inflated to extremist levels and so he was admitted under ICU care for a week. Post one week of ICU care after the inflation levels were reduced, he was shifted toward in hope of discharge but all of sudden my father got fever in the range of 102-103 degrees. The fever spike repeated every 5hours.
He underwent a different diagnostics test where it was confirmed that he had severe necrotizing pancreatitis with 90% damage. He was again shifted to ICU for further treatment. The doctors gave up on medicine management treatment and informed us that only Surgery is the option left. We immediately started taking opinions from specialist doctors especially Gastroenterologist and were made aware that Pancreas Necrosectomy Surgery is only possible to post 4 weeks of completion of necrosis. We consulted Dr. Lalit Shimpi for the same in Jehangir OPD on 1st October evening and immediately we shifted my father to Jehangir the same day. We settled the bills of Sterling hospital including medicines to the tune of INR 5.4 lacs.
We are now currently undergoing treatment in Jehangir Hospital, Pune and the per-day cost for this treatment is 50K to 60K. Till today our total bill at Jehangir is 21 lakhs. We have already exhausted all our funds i.e Savings, help from relatives to the limit of 26 lakhs. My father is still in ICU post-surgery for additional post-operative care and treatment. Still there are post-operative complications occurring each day and he is still in ICU.
Looking at this dreadful disease the recovery period is around 4-6 months and we are in the second month. We need financial assistance to the extent of 10 lakhs minimum.
While I have seen so many ups and downs in this last month seeing my father’s health, but this has shaken us completely in terms of mental, physical and financial capabilities.
With this, I would like to politely ask for any kind of financial help or support that can be made available to help me and my family revive from the current situation.
