Pandemic COVID-19 created an emergency situation in the country. Tribal communities, being socially and economically one of the most backward communities, are worst affected because of the lock down and emergency situation. Tribes of Jharagram, West Bengal are landless and mainly depends casual manual labour work to earn their living. Lock down and shut down because of COVID-19 has put them under tremendous vulnerability and have exposed to food crisis.
The current dire situation is getting worse day by day; and therefore, vulnerability is also increasing, these forest dweller tribal community does not have access to mainstream health facilities and also do not possess any savings, prolonged lock down is posing serious threat to their life and livelihood. In this difficult situation how does this help them to face the new threat and survive the turmoil?
Public Appeal –
Bindur Pathsala, a community based organization, is to urge you all to come forward and support the initiative to help them cope with this prevailing food crisis. Bindur Pathsala is determined to make home delivery of food items to 200 indigenous tribal families of Jangalmahal in Jhargram district, West Bengal with application of all social distancing norms to help them sail through this difficult time.

An amount of Rs. 700/ - to provide dry ration with wash kit for one tribal families for one month
Total 200 families – 200 X 700 = 140000.00
We need Total Rs. 140000/- for 200 tribal families dry ration for one month.
- Each kit for a family costs us Rs.700
- We have prepared a standard meal kit for a tribal family for one month.
- Each food kit contains rice, pulses, potato, mustard oil, salt, soap, Dettol liquid.
- 100% donation will be used in procuring and distributing meal kits to tribal families.
- Bindur Pathsala will Maintain all the documents with photographs and share a short report with all donors.
