This is the situation of the worst flood to have ever hit Western Maharashtra and Northern Karnataka.

Incessant rainfall and the overflowing dams of Koyna and Almatti, led to the overflowing of rivers like Krishna, Panchaganga, Doodhganga and Vedganga.  These rivers pass through western Maharashtra and northern Karnataka. Overflow and swelling of these rivers have caused the rivers to heavily flood areas up to a distance of 1.5 km from its usual boundary. This has severely affected the lives of people and animals in the villages along the banks of the river. The city of Kolhapur also observed overflowing rivers flood some parts of it up to depths of 10 ft.

In times of such calamities we has always been at the forefront to carry out rescue and relief operations to the flood affected victims, whether it be the Kerala floods of 2018 or the floods this time.

May it be distribution of food packets on highways and in villages or distribution of relief material for flood affected people and animals, Siddhagiri is there in the thick and thin of things.
Apart from their house structure, they have lost all their belongings and savings. A majority of these families rely on agriculture as their primary source of income, and the floods have washed out their farms and animals, thereby affecting them for several months to come. This means their entire livelihood supporting their basic needs, children’s education and healthcare has been washed out. Many villages have been completely cut off / isolated from the district and when the flood does eventually subside they will return to their dilapidated houses.
Imagine the pain and struggle they’ll have to go through to stand back on their feet from scratch.

This is a desperate time when all of us need to come together and help the victims of flood hit Kolhapur stand back up. It is rare for people to help another especially when you do not know what is happening to them. It is never late to join hands and do something for your helpless brother or sister and spread happiness all over.

All the funds raised towards this campaign will be transferred to the CM relief funds.
