To tell you a little about Sneha, she’s a young, vivacious and independent girl. It’s her dream to cross over to the creative side and be a full-time artist someday.
Her condition is genetic and she has already undergone two surgeries. The first surgery was in June 2017- a laparoscopic fenestration to burst some of the bigger cysts. But they recurred within two years more aggressively so the second surgery was performed in December 2019. This was an open abdominal surgery with an 18 inches incision.
While we were hopeful of a partial recovery, it only started getting worse. Her kidneys and liver have enlarged abnormally occupying most of the abdominal region. As a result, her lungs have partially collapsed, making it incredibly hard for her to breathe or even perform normal activities. The organs take up so much space that her stomach has shrunk making it hard for her to eat, resulting in severe malnutrition.
Since March 2020 she has been undergoing treatment and was due to have her transplant surgery in April 2020. She’s already registered on the organ recipient list but due to the COVID19 imposed travel restrictions, the entire process has now been delayed. This surgery has a very short window and we are almost nearing the end of it. From here on every passing day matters.
The comprehensive cost of this surgery along with all the necessary pre transplant surgeries, procedures like continuous dialysis and hospital stay has been estimated to go upwards of Rs.95 lakhs unlike the initial estimate of Rs.55 lakhs just for the transplants. Sneha is not eligible for any medical insurance since this is a genetic disorder so this cost has to borne by her family. Unfortunately, we have exhausted most of our funds during her earlier surgeries and hospitalisations and are left with a very small amount which will barely cover the costs of such magnitude.
As the amount required is huge and beyond our means, we request you to kindly contribute towards the treatment and help us give her a new lease of life. Each contribution is important and we are very thankful!
As we continue with her treatment, we will keep you updated on her progress. Do keep sneha in your thoughts and prayers as well.
