My father, a cancer survivor, has been in ICU since 5th March and is suffering from respiratory problems that arose from a Neuro-Muscular disorder called Myasthenia Gravis. We have admitted him in a private hospital at Vadapalani, Chennai. A tracheostomy was done to provide the required oxygen until the respiratory muscles start to function normally.

We have spent INR 20 lakhs until now and will not be in a position to handle the coming days without your support.

To avoid further infections arising due to long-term stay in the ICU, the hospital has recommended that we shift him out of the ICU. However, this means that we will have to hire a ventilator, an oxygen concentrator, supply oxygen & two dedicated nurses to take care of the Tracheostomy process.

The ventilator charges are around INR 45,000 per month + a security deposit of INR 50,000 and INR 90,000 per month for the staff nurse. Along with the rental of the oxygen concentrator, the oxygen supply, and other medicines, we anticipate the expenses would surpass INR 2.5 lakhs per month.

Moreover, he has been in hospital for almost a month, and we want to bring him home for at least a few days to get rid of hospital sickness before looking for more affordable alternative treatments.

In any scenario, the expenses are ventilators, oxygen, medicines and nursing staff would be definitely required.

I request you to help my family so we can lead a normal life. At this point in time, no help is small for us.
