Baby Rachita (aged 17 months) has a potentially curable brain tumour. She has already successfully undergone a complex surgery of the brain and has withstood it well. To prevent recurrence of the disease, she needs to undergo 6 weeks course of radiation for which the family needs to stay in Bengaluru (where she is being treated). In order to ensure that she stays still during the treatment, every session of radiation needs to be administered under general anaesthesia.
The family belongs to lower socio-economic status (from Bhisnupur, Assam). Despite that, they have put every effort from their side to raise funds, however, they are still falling short. In addition to medical expenses, they require money for logistical arrangements for the duration of the treatment. The hospital (Manipal Hospital) has waived off considerable portion of the medical bill and many doctors have not charged their professional fees.
Any help from your side will go a very long way in ensuring a bright and healthy future for Baby Rachita and will be genuinely appreciated by her family and the treating team.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Sanjiv Sharma (the treating radiation oncologist) at 9845588995.
