I am Rabia Saif and I am 51 years old house maker. I live in Falta outskirts close to Kolkata city. I have been suffering with eye related diseases from past 9 years, For the first time I was found with Cataract on my Right eye and had my first Cataract Surgery in the year 2012,My Cataract surgery was a procedure to remove the lens of the eye and replaced it with an artificial lens. Later on January of  2017 I was diagnosed with  Retinal Detachment in the very same eye. Retinal detachment describes an emergency situation in which a thin layer of tissue (the retina) at the back of the eye pulls away from its normal position. And had surgery twice as the surgery was not successful on the first attempt. Meanwhile post the surgery while I was suffering with my Right eye, I was found with Cataract on my Left eye and had the cataract surgery on February 2020. This time doctors told me there is a high chances of Retinal Detachment post the Cataract Surgery and unfortunately this happened before we expected. On 4th of May, 2020 I was rushed to hospital due to discomfort in my eye and The nightmare became reality. Now my left eye was diagnosed with Retinal Detachment.
Retinal detachment separates the retinal cells from the layer of blood vessels that provides oxygen and nourishment. The longer retinal detachment goes untreated, the greater your risk of permanent vision loss in the affected eye. I have been prescribed an immediate Eye surgery which is TPPV+SOI+PFCL Under LA Under GVP. Beta Please help me win this battle. Estimated surgery cost is (33000/- + 10000/- = 44000/-) . This lockdown and Current Pandemic situation of Covid-19 made this surgery and surgery related prior tests much more difficult along with the financial condition of my home. I am unable to arrange enough fund for the surgery and this surgery have to take place immediately as soon as possible otherwise it will take my left eye's vission forever.
Upsetting part is,
High chances of recurrent Retina Detachment and need for Re-Surgery explained by the team of expert doctors. Surgery advised not for visual improvement, but to avoid visual deterioration. Recovery can take up to a year of time period and more surgeries. Details and documents are attached with the campaign.Remember me on your prayers and please do support and share.
