This fundraising effort aims to provide immediate relief from Corona calamity by members of HBTU alumni and students volunteer team which has been active in alumni and social causes. The aim is to help alumni and if possible, others with Corona situation in our motherland anyway and anyhow we can. We are mobilizing the alumni, HBTU student help and other possible avenues to expedite Corona relief efforts and make a difference in the ground situation in Kanpur and if possible other select cities in India using alumni help. We aim to deliver on Corona relief initiatives with Alumni and HBTU student help and support from HBTU administration.
We are currently focused on the below initiatives,
  • Pan India Expansion of HBTU Covid Aid app
https://covidaid.org/ built by HBTU Kanpur team on a public private cooperation model and is brainchild of HBTU Alumni Mr. Ashwani Verma (MCA 1994). It is an app to help Covid victim with access to the real-time information about Hospitals Beds, Oxygen, Plasma Donor, Ambulance etc.  This app is operational in major UP cities with expansion plans pan-India. A key differentiator is that Covidaid.org has LIVE Helpdesk service. In the crisis when people have no idea where to turn and whom to approach, this helpdesk is helping connect them to the right resources and coordinate with them as quick as possible. Our Helpdesk group currently consists of 60+ HBTU dedicated student volunteers and expanding. Thousands of people have been helped and hundreds of life have been saved due to this application and the volunteer teams efforts.
  • Covid Isolation center
At least 25 bed Covid Isolation Center in HBTU premise including supply of medications, Oximeter, oxygen cylinders, RT-PCR testing, and Ambulance service. This facility will remain operational as a general medical center after Covid is over for HBTU and public use.
  • Oxygen Plant in HBTU premise for free oxygen distribution during Covid and its continued operations post Covid by students body and administration
  • Oxygen concentrators (minimum 100)
  • Alumni is working on a plan to adopt education of children from families who have been left without a bread earner or have become orphans due to Covid

Numerous HBTU Alumni members and students across the globe are already involved in helping passionately in this crisis.
