MY MISSION: TO FUNDRAISE TO RENOVATE THE GIRLS' TOILETS AT THE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF CHILDREN
MY VISION: TO EMPOWER, INSPIRE, AND HELP DIFFERENTLY ABLED CHILDREN SO THAT THEY GROW LIMITLESSLY
The girls of the School for the Deaf Children, Ludhiana, have been using dysfunctional toilets for the past few years. The boys' toilets have recently been renovated, however, due to the lack of funds the renovation of the girls' toilets remains incomplete. In their present condition, these toilets are old, unhygienic and lack proper sinks and other fittings. The lack of sinks and soaps has also been a potential reason for the spread of communicable diseases. Imagine being in a place devoid of functional toilets for more than 6 hours every day. Feels difficult, right? These girls face this difficulty every day, even when they are on their menstrual cycles. Many of these girls have, as a result, started skipping school on a regular basis, thus lagging behind in their curriculum and eventually dropping out of school.
The solution to prevent this is rather simple: build the toilets. To that end, I wish to start a fundraising campaign to raise money and supplement the school’s resources to ensure the proper construction of the toilets. Let's do our bit to make their school life better and something they look forward to instead of something they willingly avoid for no fault of their own. Let's do good to society as our ancestors did and let's pass this legacy of kindness to the generations to come.
