My name is Vijaya and I am here to fundraise for Praveen Kumar.

Praveen Kumar is 17 years old. An unfortunate incident changed a life forever for Praveen and his parents. On the 5 th of July, Praveen walked to the terrace of his aunt’s house where he lived to help her bring clothes. It was raining that day and he was collecting clothes when an electric wire stuck to one of the clothes he was holding as he had swayed the cloth in the air before he could completely grab it. The inadvertently he held the electric wire by hand. Immediately he was electrocuted so severely that he took 3 turns holding the wire and was set ablaze. His body was on fire completely and he fell on the ground from the terrace (2 nd floor). He was so badly burned that no one dared touch him until an ambulance was called for help. As the family is poor they took him to a government hospital where was he not given treatment nor a bed to lie down. After waiting for a day in pain the family decided to admit him in a private hospital. Praveen’s father is a daily wage laborer. He had to immediately pay one lakh while admitting his son to the private hospital. The doctors have started wound debridement and pain relief treatment. He is diagnosed to have an internal head injury and clots. He needs to be treated for that. He may also need arm surgery in the future but the doctors are conservatively treating for now so he is out of danger. Praveen’s father is eagerly waiting for financial help so he cannot provide initial treatment for his ailing son. He is being treated at Vijetha Hospital. Which will cost around Rs.400,000.00.
