My mother-in-law, Mrs. Pratibha Terdal, had Stage 1 Breast Cancer in 2015. She had recovered fully through Chemotherapy & Radiation treatments, spanning a period of around 1 year. Not having any health insurance at the time, was a major financial jolt for the family.

4 years on, it has eventually been discovered that her cancer has recurred, as a Stage 4 Cancer (Metastatic Carcinoma: which means it has spread to other body parts now - lungs, throat, stomach - as per the tests/scans conducted).

Her husband doesn't have a steady source of income & the graduate son is yet to get a permanent job. Not having health insurance (which insurers in India don't provide once a patient is diagnosed with Cancer) has proved to be very difficult for them to continue with a proper line of treatment (12 sittings of Chemotherapy, followed by further radiations) for the past few weeks. Most of the initial treatment & procedures have been aided by loans from close family members & relatives, to the best of their capacity.

In this period of the financial crisis, we seek the blessings of the Almighty & seek some financial assistance from those who can afford to contribute towards a speedy recovery for the patient. We shall value any contribution from the donors, in providing a helping hand to the ailing patient.
