Prakash Chander(NIT Durgapur, 2006), was diagnosed with chronic myeloid lukemia about two years ago and has exhausted most of his saving in the treatment in this time. Prakash underwent bone marrow transplant in the month of November 2019 for a life saving treatment.
After multiple attempts at finding a suitable donor and agonizing wait Prakash was able to find a matching donor from Germany. Family and friends contributed to made arrangements for the expensive transplant.

Initially Prakash responded well to the procedure but in the first week of December 2019 he developed complications that have resulted in him having two cardiac arrests and he is currently in ICU.
