By 2022, it is expected that 1 in 3 Indian children aged 5 will be stunted, which means they will not be able to grow and develop properly. Child stunting can be understood as the underdevelopment of children due to lack of nutrition, poor health and repeated infections. As per the reports, India is the slowest among the developing economies in reducing child stunting. Stunting can permanently reduce a child’s growth physically and mentally.
Child malnutrition is a chronic problem and has been a challenge for the public administration of India for many years. The Global Hunger Index (2020) – calculated – based on total undernourishment of the population, child stunting and child mortality – placed India at the 94th spot among 107 countries. As you can probably see, the situation in India is dire.
Being someone who advocates a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition, I am deeply saddened by the malnutrition crisis in India and want to contribute to defeating it. Recently, I took a small step and distributed 100 meals to children who do not have access to healthy food. However, to make a bigger impact and defeat child hunger I need your help. Especially due to the pandemic, many members of our society are not being able to earn their living and it is becoming very hard for them to survive. I have created this fundraiser to collect money for distributing meals to hungry children so that they don’t have to go to sleep hungry.
The funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly to the registered NGO, Wishes and Blessings, and will be used to distribute healthy meals to children. You can find out more about them at
Any contribution amount is appreciated. ₹1100 can sponsor 3 hot and nutritious meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – for 30 days to a particular child (i.e. ₹12.22 per meal).
I understand that not everyone can donate, but sharing the link and increasing the reach will go a long way!
