The time has come to take a stand, and it is out of this determination that was borne Pnyx MUN. Created by a group of students across several cities, the conference was titled after the hill in Athens widely regarded as one of the earliest and most important sites in the origins of democracy. Pnyx MUN was formulated primarily out of the need to help out the world in whatever way we can as students, and hence all proceeds from the event will be donated to two major causes: the situation of the migrant workers in India, and the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
Over the two days of the conference on 8th and 9th August, 2020, and through 6 simulated committees, we hope to bind together like-minded individuals who have a penchant for working towards bettering the world as we know it, to help bring to life our motto: "adversis nitamur", or "in adversity, we strive", for it is in the blackest depths of despair that humanity has the greatest potential to rise above and strive for a better tomorrow.
