“The COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated the vulnerability of the least protected in society. It is highlighting deep economic and social inequalities and inadequate health and social protection systems that require urgent attention as part of the public health response” [UN 2020]. The marginalized communities are most affected and the least protected.
Rural population of Saharanpur district is completely dependent on the government hospitals. Covid-19 cases are rising exponentially in rural part of the district. The government hospitals in the district are not equipped enough to cater to the larger population. We have been seeing hopelessness in the eyes of the people because when the public hospitals are not able to cater to their needs, then they have no where to go. We checked with health officials and the district administration about the current critical needs of the hospital. They require ventilators to save the lives of the patients whose health are critical due to COVID-19.
Through the raised money we will be procuring ventilators and these ventilators will be used in the district hospital, so that we can help save the lives of the people who are completely dependent on the public hospital i.e. the most marginalized sections of the society.
