    This fundraiser will benefit

    People living with HIV

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Story

People living with HIV have been one of the worst affected during COVID. Their compromised immune system further prevents them access to resources needed for survival, while living in a state where they are constantly ostracized.

According to UNAIDS data (2018), over 2.1 million cases of HIV exist in India; causing the third largest HIV epidemic in the world. When you donate to this campaign, you help people living with HIV get access to adequate nutrition that also helps with their fight against both COVID and HIV.

Earlier in June, we were successfully able to provide 21 individuals living with HIV ration kits in Warangal, Telangana in collaboration with Citizen's Covid War Room. However, there are four more districts that require our help, consisting of 140 individuals. The districts are:

Manchiryal (40 individuals)
Huzuradbad (40 individuals)
Asifabad (30 individuals)
Sirisilla (30 individuals)

Additionally, this initiative is going to occur in collaboration with Tapas Foundation. A portion of the money raised will be utilized towards their ration drive in the slums of Jhandewalan and Haiderpur, with the target of benefitting 150 families.

Tapas Foundation is a social reform organization which works on a grassroots level to help rid our society of social evils, hunger being one of them. Since the lockdown began in March 2020, they have directed their efforts towards providing relief to marginalized communities.

A ration kit consists of:  Rice 10 kg, Sugar 1 kg, Tuwardal 1 kg, Oil 1 kg,  Tea 250 gms, Mirchi 100 gm, Haldi 100 gm, Salt 1 kg, Tamarind powder 250gms and 4 soaps for utensils and cleaning.

Please donate and help us provide food to marginalized communities who are bearing the brunt of the present situation, suffering due to hunger.
