Project Jal Tarang
Hello Everyone This is Sangeeta Bapuli an advocate poet-playwright and activist working for the Sindhi language and community. I'm here to raise funds for People whose lives have been devasted by the yaas cyclone in West Benga. We are trying to help them so we started to do relief like food Tarpauline Clothes etc. That time we noticed that they have a scarcity of water and they cannot grow crops or rear fish and day-to-day life is tough because the salted water of the river broke the embankments and mixed in the small ponds and the agricultural land. They are helpless so I decided to help them so from my side personally I spent money and cleaned 7 ponds but more than 3000 ponds are there to be cleaned. Please join with me to save them because people were using those ponds for rearing fish for washing cleaning. Their source of livelihood that is ponds and agricultural land are destroyed. Moreover, due to the yaas cyclone, the pond was polluted hence it cannot be used and soon due to contamination there is fear of diseases. People are suffering more as they have no food and a source of livelihood.
Our target begins with 200 ponds
The average cost is Rs.2500 per pond varying with size and depth.
This is the cost of pumping out the salty water and polluted dirty water. Pump hiring and fuel work up to 2500 rs. per pond.
It has to be done immediately so that the cleaned ponds can be filled with rain water during the ongoing monsoon.
