Help women headed family during lock down -COVID-19

The corona virus pandemic, and the nationwide lock down has taken away the livelihood of women headed families exposing them to vulnerable conditions and danger to infection. We have identified more than 1000 families and wanted to support the most needed 500 families immediately to relieve them from hungry. SEEDS NGO is on board supporting the vulnerable in southern districts of Tamil Nadu. 500 families will be provided with Home Pack of Groceries and Rice worth Rs.1000 each.

Dry Ration and Food for 50 Nomadic Tribes – Thanks to ASSEFA Madurai
SEEDS proudly announce in its 25th Silver Jubilee Year Celebration, ASSEFA MADURAI – one of the long time partners of SEEDS organisation has come forward to support our Donate Now initiative with Rs.50, 000.
We have identified 50 Nomadic Tribes families in Panickanenthal village near Kariyapatti under Virudhunagar District and they provided with “NO Cost Home Products of Groceries” each worth Rs.1000 during this country wide lock down to prevent the killing disease COVID-19.

No Cost Groceries to Vulnerable
In order to save the life of most vulnerable we identified 2000 people through Virudhunagar District administration, Farmer Producer Company Limited like SEEDS, Ramanar, Viludhugal and Ramnad. 1971 people have been supported with Nutritious Non Pesticide Mangement groceries worth Rs.1000 at free of cost.

Mr. R.Kannan, District Collector Virudhunagar, Mr. B.Rajasureswaran DDM of NABARD, President of concerned Village Panchayaths and the Chairman and CEOs of Farmer Producer Companies have participated in the distribution function and appreciated the timely effort of Relief Poor. Under the leadership of Mr.SD. Pandian, Secretary of SEEDS there are 30 staff including 12 women involved in purchasing, packaging and distribution work with necessary precautionary health care measures. The team has been working for more than 10 hours and reaching to a radius of 10-40 KM per day.        
 
Impacts of the Project
  • Vulnerable lead their daily life free from worries and hungry.
  • No.of people stay home has been increased.
  • Health consciousness among rural people has been increased by using hand wash, face mask, keep social distance and keep environment clean. 
  • People follow and support the Government rules and regulations related to COVID-19.
  • Volunteerism emerged among the community to support the poor and needy.
  • People start respects and follow the Doctors, Police and Service Sector people.
