Earlier this year, we began working on the Cl!ck Foundation, a women’s digital literacy project to provide basic computer skills and digital access training for women. We realized that we must go above and beyond to be able to help out in all possible ways.
As part of this project, Kalptaru Society, along with Sripriya Singh and APT Portfolio Private Limited will create a community computer lab in Pooran Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, with laptops, internet connection, a color printer, and office supplies to help the women gain digital literacy training and independently use computer services for their needs.
With the money raised, we will buy CPUs and wi-fi cards for the same.
Once we are able to successfully create the laboratory, Sripriya Singh will hold workshops to share her original 10-module digital literacy curriculum in English and Hindi to help women understand the basics of computer and smartphone usage, including internet access and social media, alongside using basic application software.
Digital Literacy empowers people by allowing them to have more access to information and networks. It allows them to learn different kinds of work, through engaging with a wider set of people and being able to easily access knowledge.
All the money raised will be spent only on buying the materials required for the digital literacy project, to allow liberation through education and knowledge.
