Help Partha To Survive!!

A major surgery will cost me 6Lakhs and I am bedridden for 4months and have no income. Please help me.

I had gallbladder stones. I was told, the surgery would be a simple laparoscopic gallstone removal. Instead the nursing home cut my bile duct during the botched up operation, and could not take out the gallbladder completely too and in that process crippled me. They tried to cover their misdeeds too by misleading my family. Only after I went to other doctors post surgery when I was in immense pain, did I get to know that I have been robbed off my life. Some other doctors tried putting stents in a third surgery. My third surgery was also unsuccessful.
I am Partha Sinha Roy from Sodepur, Kolkata. I am 37. I am the ONLY earning member of my family of two, my old mother and I. Last three months we have barely made our both ends meet. And a major corrective surgery  called "hepaticojejunostomy" would cost me 6Lakhs. We have nothing left after two surgeries. My mother is quite old and we have no income, please help me with the surgery cost.

The story in detail:
I was suffering from severe abdominal pain due to gallbladder stone. At first, on 3rd July I underwent a laparoscopic surgery during which the bile duct was badly injured. Actually the bile duct was cut off due to surgeon's mistake. As a result, bile started storing inside the abdomen. Also, a residual gallbladder in GB fossa remained inside. So a second open surgery had to be done to fix the post-operative complications on 18th July but problem associated with the bile duct could not be solved.

I was referred to the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital on 21st July. I was admitted there till 28th July. No surgery was done in the hospital, just plenty of blood tests, USG, MRCP were done and I was being given NS with antibiotics intravenously during the whole span of my stay in the hospital. The doctors could not give me a cured life. They said that it would take a little longer time for the bile to stop discharging.

I came home from the hospital on 28th July. The wound of the stitches of the open surgery got infected in the hospital. Junior doctor used to do dressing twice a day which were very very painful. At home the dressing had to be continued till it became dry and healed. Stitches were finally cut after 41 days from the day of the open surgery.

On 26th August I was taken to the ILS hospital, Salt Lake, Kolkata where Dr Jayanta Mukherjee took an effort to implant stent through ERCP. Unfortunately, Dr Mukherjee could not do so as the ERCP did not show any possible way to implant stent. He suggested for a major surgery called "hepaticojejunostomy".

For this surgery we reached Dr Purnendu Bhowmik of the IRIS hospital at Baghajatin, Kolkata. Dr Bhowmik told us to wait till the bile stops discharging. The surgery cannot be done until the internal state of the common bile duct is fully dried. He gave an approximate time between mid of October to end of October for me to undergo the surgery.

Over the last three months I have lost my weight drastically and become totally bedridden. I cannot sit or walk. I cannot digest foods even. I can only be fit I can avail the huge cost of the critical surgery. I humbly request you all to help me get back my old normal healthy life. Please help me.

Dear donors,

It is an immense pleasure to see each and every friend of mine coming together and standing beside me in my extreme health crisis. My junior and fellow senior college-mates have also done the same so effortlessly. Your supports- both mentally and financially have helped me come out of a state of depression and fading away thereby paving the way to be undergoing the critical surgery to correct the mistake caused due to a menacing breakneck action of a surgeon during my first laparoscopic surgery. I've seen some people have donated for my surgery anonymously too. I am ever so grateful to all of you. I thank you all from the deepest core of my heart.

Currently, I am preparing myself to be mentally strong and trying to obliterate the fear of undergoing the fourth surgery in just a four month duration. The gastro-billiary surgeon, Dr Purnendu Bhowmik, has started the pre-operative investigations and has begun with 11 types of blood testing. He now aims to take a look on the reports of MRCP, ECHO screening, ECG and other necessary procedures and fix the surgery date thereafter. I will possibly reach the IRIS hospital (Baghajatin, Kolkata) to fight the fourth battle within two weeks time.

Dr. Bhowmik has asked me to cooperate him by being mentally happy and strong and eating high amount of protein rich foods to increase 5-10 kilos in my body weight.

Anyway, I'm hoping to stand on my feet again soon and I'm sure that your prayers and good wishes will definitely help me get a speedy recovery.

I'll write you after my surgery.

Love and thanks from Partha.
