    This fundraiser will benefit

    Parimala J.

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

As we did previously, we are helping Parimala J., a domestic worker in North Bangalore, raise fees to send her children to school and college. This fundraiser is meant to help raise school fees for two children, Jayanalini in class 8 and Jothi Darshan in Class 3, and fees for pre-university (11th-12th) for one child, Savita.

Parimala cleans houses for a living while her husband is a construction and farm worker currently working in Tamil Nadu. The couple have worked extremely hard to ensure that their four children have access to good education, so that they have a better life than their parents. The pandemic and lockdowns have impacted their income greatly and forced Parimala’s husband and the father of these children to leave home and look for work in TN. Inflation, an increase in school fees and lack of work have added to their woes. Despite all this the couple are determined to make sure their children have a decent English medium education that will provide them better jobs and lives in the future. The couple have taken several loans to ensure their four children have had education so far. We want to ensure that the other three children, also finish school and access higher education without their parents entering a cycle of debt.

About the children: Parimala’s oldest daughter is now in her fist year degree studying computer science. This fundraiser is for the remaining children.

Savita passed class 10 in flying colours (scored 80%) and is heading towards pre-university. She has already been accepted in a local college, where she will be studying computer science, economics, business, and accounts (please see additional documents). INR 4000 has been paid towards this seat. We need to raise INR 26,000 more for one year.

Jayanalini has passed class 7 and moved on to class 8. Despite having to share a phone with her sister and take turns attending school through most of the lockdown, she has passed with good grades (please see additional documents).

The youngest Jothi Darshan, who attended school in December 2021, for the first time since the pandemic stopped his schooling mid-upper kindergarten, will start Class 3 in June 2022 (please see additional documents). Annual school fees for each child is INR 50,000. There is a 5% sibling discount and further 5% discount if we pay the full fees in one go. We need to raise a minumum of INR 90,000 for the two children and a maximum of INR 95,000 (please see additional documents).

All the children are first generation learners who have shown immense grit and resilience in these very difficult times. Their continued education means everything to Parimala, who has never gone to school. Your contribution can help this family keep the dream alive. The children are bright, hardworking and eager to go back to school and learning (please see markscards). Please help us make this happen as quickly as possible.
