My uncle Rangareddy (59) and his son Panduranga reddy (34) are farmers, based out of Mominpet, Rangareddy Dist, Telangana. They both worked hard and struggled to make ends meet. My uncle started showing symptoms of high fever and cough on April 15th. He thought those were common symptoms of 1st dose of covid vaccine which he took a couple of days ago.
In the next few days, his health deteriorated, and experienced shortness of breath. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Sangareddy. Doctors advised his condition was critical and recommended taking him to a hospital that has a ventilator.
Panduranga, his elder son, and other family members contacted all government and multi-specialty hospitals in Hyderabad for a ventilator. After multiple attempts, one corporate hospital agreed to accept him as a patient on charges of Rs.50,000 per day. Though the amount was completely out of their affordability. Panduranga took courage and tried to get him to the private hospital with the help of relatives. After reaching the hospital, they denied admission. With failed multiple attempts at other hospitals in Hyderabad, my uncle had to return to the hospital in Sangareddy. Hours of travel and denied admissions added more stress and took a toll on his health. After battelling for a day without a ventilator he passed away.
Panduranga tried his best to save his father with all the savings they had. He lost hope and was devastated. He was heartbroken when he had to bury his father without proper last rituals and service. Without his knowledge, Panduranga had contracted Covid while helping his father. In the next few days, even though he could experience symptoms of Covid he avoided visiting hospitals with the past experience he faced for his father and feared the debts he had to incur. He struggled alone with covid and hoped to recover at home. Panduranga severely suffered from low levels of oxygen and heart stroke. Unfortunately, he passed away in the hospital after few hours of admission on May 11th.
Panduranga survived by his wife and two young kids. It is disheartening that his two kids of age 4 and 2 have to grow up without their father and face the harsh reality. The family is devastated by the demise of the father and the son in a short duration of time, who were the sole bread earners of the family.
I have created this fundraising to help Rangareddy and Panduranga family. All the donations collected will be used to pay off debt incurred by medical bills and the remaining will be used for the welfare of Panduranga's kid's future.
Please join me to help Panduranga reddy family any help is appreciated.
