    This fundraiser will benefit

    Pandilla Srinivas

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Dear Friends,
I am writing this to bring to your attention about COVID-19 victim Pandilla Srinivas suffering at the young age of 35 years, married five years back. He is working as a private employee and was in a remote village of Godavarikhani district in Telangana, India when got infected by the virus.
His initial diagnosis was Typhoid, which led him to delay during the critical early infection phase. Further diagnosis by RT-PCR and CT scan in Hyderabad revealed that his lungs were severely infected with a score of 18/25. Within hours of the diagnosis, his SPO2 levels rapidly declined to 80. Initial hospitalization was a challenge; searching 5 hospitals and paying an upfront deposit of  Rs.2 lakhs (~$ 3000) he managed to get admitted to an ICU with BiPAP oxygen support. In the next two days, he was given 4 doses of Remdesivir, Steroids, Bevacizumab, Plasma therapy, 2-DG, and antibiotics among others. However, he still did not respond and doctors suggested mechanical ventilation. These two days charged him Rs.5 lakhs (~$ 7500).
He was then moved to a multispeciality hospital with better facilities. After another round of diagnosis and serum biomarker evaluation, mechanical ventilation was decided by the team of doctors and intubated. After two days on a ventilator, his condition has still not improved and the doctors are suggesting ECMO and LUNG  TRANSPLANT. Hospitalization charges from May 22nd to May 25th were Rs.6.08  lakhs(~$ 8685). He is continuing to be on Mechanical ventilator till he receives ECMO.  Because of the poor prognosis (80% oxygenation at 100% O2) doctors are suggesting further advanced treatment of ECMO and lung transplantation which would further cost Rs. 1 Crore ($ 135,000).
We, some of his friends, colleagues, and family members have started this fundraiser to provide immediate financial support so that his health care will not stop until he is recovered and weaned off the ventilator.
If you can support him through a small donation, it would help him a lot.
I urge all of you to save a life when we can.
Thank you.
