The Training Program
It is only on the foundation of strong training that she/he can be prepared for the ever evolving/varying nature of one’s art. They are going to be our actors of tomorrow and it is very important that they raise the bar for all of us.This is the first time at Our Theatre that a ‘training’ program of this magnitude and length is being attempted. The intensive 11-month course comprises
  • Physical training
  • Exploration of the Navarasas
  • Discovery, reading & performances of classic & contemporary plays
  • Weekly discussions of socio-political issues.
Apart from preparing the body, the course inculcates  a strong sense of embracing multiple realities which could inform their aesthetic sensibilities and develops an awareness about the role of theatre in the socio-political-cultural milieu.

We have had 2 public performances (not ticketed) of a play till date  and received tremendous response.

It is very important for us to work and rehearse in different spaces, to enhance and deepen our understanding of space and its relationship with performer/performance.

We aspire to create a full-fledged production with all the participants to culminate this program, which hopefully will live up to the standards of performance we see in Indian theatre today.Any contribution will go a long way in inspiring the spirit of this program and its participants.

We have 6 participants in this program; Poorvi Sardar, Abhishek Chauhan, Abhitej Gupta, Rahul Thomas, Aravind Ratheesh, and Aditya Nair. They put in a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.

We are seeking financial support for the following
  1. Production budget - includes honarary payments to all collaborators  (2,00,000/-).
  2. To hire  different ‘work-spaces/studios’ (70,000/-).
  3. To partially support the participants (some just starting out as full time theatre artists)  (60,000/-).
We shall be very gratified by your support and you are welcome into any of our sessions or performances to know what difference your contribution is making.
