Dear Patrons, Friend and Artists,

Our Theatre needs your support for continuing its ongoing ‘Actor Training Program’. [July 2017 – June 2018]

This program was initiated by Vivek Vijayakumaran
(artistic director, Our Theatre) with a vision to bring in the required seriousness, rigour and discipline towards ‘training’ among young and upcoming actors in Bangalore.  It is only on the foundation of strong training that she/he can be prepared for the ever evolving/varying nature of one’s art. They are going to be our actors of tomorrow and it is very important that they raise the bar for all of us.

This is the first time at Our Theatre that a ‘training’ program of this magnitude and length is being attempted. The intensive 11-month course comprises physical training, exploration of the Navarasas, discovery, reading & performances of classic & contemporary plays and weekly discussions of socio-political issues. Apart from preparing the body, the course inculcates  a strong sense of embracing multiple realities which could inform their aesthetic sensibilities and develops an awareness about the role of theatre in the socio-political-cultural milieu.

We have had 2 public performances (not ticketed) of a play till date  and received tremendous response. We hope to showcase more performances in the coming months. Any contribution will go a long way in inspiring the spirit of this program and its participants.

We have 7 participants in this program; Poorvi Sardar, Abhishek Chauhan, Abhitej Gupta, Rahul Thomas, Aravind Ratheesh, Aditya Nair and Yashwanth Sathu. The monthly fee per person for over 40 hours of work comes to Rs 5000/- (approx.).

We are seeking financial support for the following
  1. Production budget (60,000/-).
  2. To hire  different ‘work-spaces/studios’ (30,000/-).
  3. To partially support the participants (some being full time theatre artists) to pay their monthly fee for next 7 months (10,000 * 7 = 70,000/-).
We shall be very gratified by your support and you are welcome into any of our sessions or performances to know what difference your contribution is making.

Please feel free to reach out to us at  for any queries or questions that you may have.
