One World Educational Trust (OWET) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) registered under Tamil Nadu Trust Act in 1983. The head office of OWET is located at Adyar, Chennai. This NGO has got 12AA, 80G, NITHI AAYOK, and FCRA.  Since 1986 OWET has been working for the upliftment of the downtrodden and economically weaker section in Tamil Nadu in terms of conducting educational programs as well as providing relief materials. We did a child nutritional development program to the children of Cheyur Taluk by way of providing food supplement which was sponsored by UNICEF, Chennai. The OWET has been regularly updated ITR / FCRA filing up to 31st March, 2019.  This apart OWET is running a  school without fees named Delta Primary & Nursery School at Kadalur Revenue Village in Cheyur Taluk in Chengalput District.
Based on the above context, and also with the rich experience of 37 years, our NGO is planning to provide relief measures to the downtrodden and daily wage earners who are already indirectly affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic menace.
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Around the world, most of the people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Elderly people and those who are suffering from medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illnesses.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to create awareness among the people about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes, and how it spreads. Instructing the people to protect themselves from infection by washing their hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently and not touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of human saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that the public should practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).
As of now, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments. World Health Organisation will continue to provide updated information as soon as clinical findings become available.
Already the OWET is doing social-economic service in CHENNAI District/ Tamil Nadu and also providing awareness programs in several areas.
At the moment our OWET selected the following priority area in Chennai District:
1. ADYAR
2. INJAMPAKKAM
3. CHEMMANCHERY
All the above mentioned three areas 50% people are almost being daily wage laborers. They go to work on a daily basis and earn their living. If they are unable to work for a day then they have to struggle for food. Due to the existing curfew 144, they are drastically struggling for their daily food because there is no work. Hence, on behalf of our OWET, we are already started giving them food what they need at present. For which we ask for help from well-wishers, others by charitable means as much as possible. Since there are thousands of people are in need of food items and other equipment we need more funding support. After analyzing several factors, visiting the respective areas as well as assessing the ground realities we prepared the following list of requirements based on the population, such as immediate relief materials which includes food items and the respective amount to meet out the expenditure.
