Our dog, who has been inseparable from us since we got her, is fighting for her life with us on her side.
Nora, a beautiful black German Shepherd was abandoned on the highway by her owner. She was rescued by an NGO and was adopted by us in Nov. 2020. Since then she has been a part of our very small family. Our world has been revolving around her since then. She has made a huge change in our lives and as well as us an individuals and made us better human beings in many respects. Together we play, eat, sleep (and fight for treats too!).
Everything was merry till the day we found out that she had suffered from Tick Fever earlier and although it was treated before she came to us, it had resurfaced again. The doctors found a deadly blood parasite: Babesia gibsoni, which causes hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, lethargy, and splenomegaly and can be fatal if not treated accordingly.
She has been having blood in her stool since 3 months now. The parasite has been very stubborn and not responding to the medication and treatment that has been going on.
We have been trying our very best till now to do everything we can to get her treated and recovered. Till now, we have spent around 40,000 Rupees.
Further treatment requires around 40,000 Rupees and now it has become beyond our abilities to come up with that sum.
