Lo! Peninsula is India’s only shoegaze/dreampop/psych-gaze band based in Imphal, Manipur. The band was started by Nitin Shamurailatpam (Vocals & Guitar) along with Avinash Thokchom (Bass) and Jyotin Elangbam (Drums) in 2017. Our debut single Chasing Tidal Waves was released in 2017. With much persistence and immense help from our friend Sudip Kongbrailatpam, our debut EP titled – AKA Lo Peninsula was released in 2018. It would be an understatement to say we were overwhelmed by the immediate global recognition and radio airplays which eventually got our band to perform at India’s most sought-after music festivals namely, Ziro Festival of Music, Bacardi Nh7 Weekender, Magnetic Fields Festival, Metropolis Asia besides performing at local music events in Manipur.

Yet another opportunity has come our way in the form of FOCUS Wales 2020, an International Showcase Festival at Wrexham, Wales, UK, which will be taking place over 7th - 9th May, 2020. FOCUS Wales is a not-for-profit organization, established to provide the annual new music showcase event for the Welsh Music Industry. Their core work centres around the delivery of international multi-venue showcase festival taking place in Wrexham each Spring, which places the music industry spotlight firmly on the emerging talent that Wales has to offer the world, alongside a selection of the best new acts from across the globe.

This is a dream come true for the band where we get to showcase alongside 250+ bands and over 15,000 people. As struggling musicians in small town conflict zone, we have had our fair share of ups and down. In order to fulfill this dream, we need to raise Rs. 4,00,000 ($5,390) to pay for our travel and accommodation in Wrexham, Wales.
