I'm Nipun Kashyap of sector 37 Faridabad.
If you were to ask about me a few weeks ago, I would have said "I am a student", a diligent one. If not an overachiever, but a consistent one.
I was pursuing B.tech from YMCA university, already under loans sums Amongst thousands of households that got affected because of COVID-19, my family was one of them. With the world shutting down abruptly, my family took another massive financial hit when both my parents lost theirs jobs.
My father was working as a graphic designer for 20+ years and my mother working as a finance consultant but the showroom where she was working was getting shut. The circumstances got hard when they both were let go. With no jobs and me in college, we burned through our savings fast and reached a point where my family had to take a tough call and my education was ground to a halt.
My college was supportive up to a point but they too have strict guidelines concerning the tuition fee which led to me not being allowed to give my exams. With the situation persisting, I fell behind. At this time in a conventional world, I was supposed to be starting my final year of college with my sights set on UPSC for external affairs or railways at the least to which I'm ready to work relentlessly for Instead, I'm still waiting out on being able to give 2nd year's exam.
The sum that I'm trying to raise is the current and previous year's tuition fee and being able to raise that money will help in ways I can't tell. It will help me pursue my education again, but it will increase the optimism that my parents are holding on to while I'm their only hope
