Update on Bholi*DELHI*
PLEASE CONSIDER IT SHARING. EVEN A SINGLE SHARE MAY GIVE US SOME LEADS.
Hi everyone. So far, this journey has been about sleepless nights, changing bedsheets and newspapers, feeding every 2 hours and running around in the house in emergency situations. This is what parenthood is about. It's a lot but at the end of the day, it's a beautiful thing to experience.
After learning that Bholi was abandoned because she was pregnant, I could do nothing but just be there for her. Sometimes that's all these voiceless souls need, little support and some guidance. A soul so innocent, a soul who is so selfless and so loving, how could someone leave her to die alone on the road? Even after knowing it was about so many lives.
We had no idea that Bholi wont be able to feed her babies ever. Her surgeries, post op care and even feeding her babies was never planned. Her pregnancy was itself a shock for us but once you have a living being at home, there is no way you can or should step back. I raised funds for Bholi and her babies thinking that it would be just about Bholi's meals and other little things and later stopped people from donating. Little did we know that everything would cost us this much. Her surgery was unexpected, so were her blood tests, x ray, medicines, etc. A box of a puppy formula milk could last for about 3.5 days (I used to get it in discount @ Rs. 750) as there are 4 babies and they were being fed every two hours. Now they have swtiched to baby wheat ceralac which I bought in bulk already. A 400gm box gets over in 2 days (each puppy needs 2 scoops). One of the puppy had an infection on his penis which is slowly healing now. Bholi is also on antibiotics and syrups as her haemoglobin was 8.4 only. I am trying everything under my capacity to give them a life that every dog deserves but without your support, it won't be easy for us to move forward. We can't reduce their number of meals or the quantity just because we are over with the funds. We have already over spend and managed everything somehow but being there for these babies and feeling helpless is not something that they deserve. I am currently not working and neither do I stay with my parents so nothing is financially, physically and even emotionally stable at the moment. I also have an indie baby at home so it's a lot.
I have always worked in an NGO sector but was never good at fundraising (I used to work for a different department). During Bholi's journey, I understood how challenging and scary fundraising could be. Relying on money from strangers and people you know just to save someone's life. I was reluctant initially but I am glad I came forward and asked for donations. Because we were not aware of her surgery and everything else that I mentioned, we told people that we dont need donations further. We had to stop because we assumed that the small amount we collected would be enough. But sometimes, you have all the knowledge and the strength to do something but without any financial support, it can never be easy to move forward. Even a small contribution of Rs. 150-200 will help us. It's their last month at my place. Please help me so that I can give them a normal healthy life till the time they are under my care. Two of our baby girls (the black ones) have already been adopted by Ms. Sunanda Arora (from faridabad) and the best part is, both the girls will be staying together and they already have two elder sisters to accompany them. We know people are interested in adopting the male ones too but one of them is very fragile so it's still on process. Bholi's adoption will be confirmed by this week. I will inform you all once again if there is any major update. Thank you for your constant support. Please do share it around.
